Health Partners’ Business Development team has consistently delivered exceptional new business and retention performance. We are now looking for an exceptional Head of Bids to contribute to future performance.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for:
• Line managing, motivating and coaching the bid writing team
• Ensure the team continues to produce consistent high quality, winning bid responses
• Plan resource levels to meet demand and manage workloads between team members
• Ensure the team maintain and make use of a high-quality library of winning responses to a variety of bid scenarios and questions
• Proof and quality check responses to ensure consistency in line with business sales, relationship management and subject matter experts guidance
• Ensure all our responses are easy to read and comprehend with win themes clearly communicated in clear, concise text, illustrated with imagery and underpinned with relevant examples.
• Be involved in understanding the bid-win strategy per opportunity
• Maintain your understanding of current and new services / ways of working and USPs
• Ensure all bids adopt our house style and adhere to the timelines of each opportunity, allowing sufficient time for internal reviews and sign off before publication
• Innovate using AI, lessons learned and feedback from the wider business to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the bidding process
• Upskill teams to follow best practice and achieve top tender scores.
• Work in true partnership with internal Sales and other leads to maximise our bid performance.
What we are looking for
• A very experienced bid writer with a proven track record of delivering high volumes of quality bids that resulted in a high new business win rate
• Ideally with a knowledge of occupational health, but not essential
• Detail-oriented and strategic leader with a proven track record in bid management and a passion for driving high-quality outcomes.
• A master in what makes a successful strategic bid and a tool-kit that can be shared with the wider team.
• You will have the ability to coach and inspire bid teams, working collaboratively to optimise performance and maintain a strong win rate. Building relationships and rapport quickly with internal and external stakeholders
• A continuous improvement mindset is essential, along with the ability to interpret and implement win strategies that align with sales objectives and add clear value.
• Skilled in workload planning, resource allocation, and ensuring bids are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
• Experience in leveraging AI, best practices, and innovative approaches to enhance outputs is highly desirable. Strong leadership and line management capabilities are key, as is a commitment to fostering engagement, motivation, and productivity within your team.
• Experience in the Occupational Health (OH) sector is preferable, essentially you will have a track record of delivering impactful, well-structured submissions and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Hours
The hours for this role are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
Location
This role is home based, therefore you will need to ensure you have a suitable space you can work from at home.

Salary
The salary for this role is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.
