Role Outline

The purpose of this role is to manage the purchase ledger and procurement process across a wide range of clients and companies we work with.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the purchase ledger department within the Finance Team.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, reconciliations, and payment runs.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve any invoice discrepancies or queries.
• Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the purchase ledger team, setting objectives and reviewing performance.
• Manage month-end closing procedures and reconcile purchase ledger accounts.
• Prepare and provide financial reports and summaries related to creditor balances and cash flow projections.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve purchase-to-pay processes and ensure financial controls are maintained.
• Liaise with auditors and assist with the audit process as it relates to accounts payable.
• Assist with budget preparation and manage cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively. Strong organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks efficiently. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential, and the successful candidate will also possess strong problem-solving abilities and thrive under pressure. While a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, AAT) is desirable, it is not essential. Experience within the healthcare sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
Hours
The hours for this role is 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
The role will be a fixed term contract for 6 months.
Location
This role is a hybrid position. You will be expected to attend our head office in Brighton 3 days a week, whilst working the remaining two days from home.
Salary
The salary for this role is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.
