Role Outline

As a Finance Assistant in the Credit Control department, working on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis you will play a key role in supporting our credit control team with the management of debtor accounts, ensuring timely payments and minimising financial risk to the company. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, following up on outstanding invoices, and providing administrative support to the credit control function. You will handle data input for both purchase and sales ledgers, reconcile payments, and ensure clients are billed accurately in line with their contracts. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Raise invoices, credit notes, and issue statements.
  • Manage multi-invoices for large clients with multiple divisions.
  • Understand and ensure billing aligns with client contracts.
  • Liaise with other teams and account managers to ensure smooth workflow and provide support as needed.
  • Enter, reconcile, and post cash receipts into the financial system daily.
  • Research on-account payments and contact customers, including managing suspense accounts.
  • Respond to questions and issues related to Accounts Receivable.
  • Print daily invoices, monthly statements, and ad hoc copy invoice requests.
  • Process customer billing, respond to customer requests, and update balances in the accounting system.


What We Are Looking For

 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a finance team and be familiar with finance systems such as Sage or SAP Concur. Proficiency in Excel and strong problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and adapt to change. Experience working across multiple finance departments is desirable but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to contribute to a busy and evolving finance team.

 

Hours

 

This role is full time, where the successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday, with flexibility between our core hours of 8am-6pm.

 

Location

 

The role is based at our Brighton office. Hybrid working may be considered.

Salary

The salary for this role is between £25K and £27K per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
