We are seeking a driven and self-motivated Wellbeing Physiologist to join our dynamic and growing multidisciplinary team at Hinkley Point C, Europe's largest construction site. This is an exciting opportunity to use your creativity and innovative mindset to engage employees and support the on-site health and wellbeing service for our client. 

 

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of employees and contractors, delivering health surveillance, health screening, and health promotion. You will play an integral role in developing a forward-thinking Wellbeing Service that supports both business and client objectives.

 

Working closely with the Programme Lead, you will help ensure the effective delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives. To succeed in this role, you should hold at least a degree (or equivalent) in Sports Science, Health Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field, with experience in sports, medical, health, wellbeing, or fitness settings. You will need a strong understanding of human physiology, exercise, biochemistry, anatomy/biomechanics, psychology, or nutrition, and a commitment to driving positive health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage clinics and deliver health screening assessments to employees on-site on a 1-1 basis.
  • Contribute to and deliverhealth promotion initiatives, such as health fairs and workshops across the site.
  • Provide evidence-based advice tailored to the patient’s health profile and stage of behaviour change.
  • Formulate and implement written action plans based on treatment prescriptions, modified for the stage of change.
  • Set realistic and positive goals, coaching patients to achieve their full potential.
  • Support individuals with lifestyle-induced diseases to make sustainable lifestyle changes for improved chronic disease management.
  • Assist and reassure clients during medical tests and procedures.
  • Use specialised equipment to perform clinical tests, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
  • Record, analyse, and interpret clinical data, assessing patients’ clinical risks, and escalating to GPs or OH practitioners when necessary.
  • Act within company policies to protect sensitive personal information in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of educational workshops, health fairs and health & wellbeing webinars.
  • Design and implement health promotion campaigns to empower employees to make informed health decisions.
  • Facilitate the setup of events, ensuring equipment and clients are in the correct locations and positions.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Wellbeing Physiologist with a genuine passion for health and wellbeing to join our team at Hinkley Point C. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Sports Science or a related discipline, with practical experience in health, fitness, or wellbeing environments.

 

A background in project management would be advantageous, along with a proven ability to design and deliver engaging health and wellbeing initiatives and workshops. A strong foundation in physiology, clinical data interpretation, and health promotion strategies is essential for this role.

 

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and coaching skills who can confidently and proactively engage with contractors across the site to drive participation in the Wellbeing Programme. You’ll bring creativity and enthusiasm to your approach, with a supportive and personable style that empowers individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes.

Hours

This role is full time (37.5 hours per week), working Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm.

Location

This role is on-site, based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset.

Salary

 

The salary for this role is between £28,000.00 and £32,000.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
