Role Outline

Health Partners have an exciting opportunity for experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary team based at our client's site in Barrow-in-Furness.

 

The Occupational Health Nurse is an integral part of the team, providing a compassionate, professional clinical service that is instrumental in the quality of care that our client's employees on-site receive. You'll be working alongside a team of experienced occupational health professionals, from Physiotherapists, Occupational Health Advisors, and Technicians, working collaboratively to provide a holistic package of care.

 

This role requires an ability to assess and manage minor injury and illness, deliver health and wellbeing initiatives, and work with external organisations and other healthcare professionals.

 

This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week) where the successful candidate will work Monday-Thursday between the hours of 7:15am - 4:00pm and 7.15am to 11.45am on Fridays. Hybrid working can be discussed.


What you'll be doing:

  • Providing a full occupational health treatment service in line with the client contract including wellbeing assessments, health promotion, advice and education, health surveillance, safety critical medicals, travel health, travel assessments, vaccinations, D&A testing etc., following Health Partners guidelines and written instructions.
  • Providing professional advice, support and guidance to employees on-site.
  • Assessing new clients presenting to Occupational Health.
  • Assessing individuals' fitness to work for the appropriate job role.
  • Providing clinical assessment of clients presenting with minor illness and injury.
  • Supporting the OH Manager to advise, monitor and assess the clinical practice of the OH team.
  • Providing health surveillance.
  • Ensuring clinical assessment skills are maintained in line with best practice.

 

Applicants must have previous experience working within the occupational health sector and have health surveillance experience, as an essential requirement for this role. Experience working within A&E/intensive care departments, or as a practice nurse is also highly desirable experience.

 

You must also be a registered nurse with the NMC, holding a valid and up to date Pin.

Skills

Experience working within A&E/intensive care
Excellent knowledge of occupational health and employment legislation
Previous Occupational Health experience is preferable
Registered Nurse (Part 1)

Education & Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Occupational Health
Diploma

Salary

The salary range for this role is between £34,000 to £36,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Certifications

Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration
